Mikroplastforurensning sett gjennom forskjellige linser

Plastnettverket ved UiB, sammen med samarbeidspartnerne HI, NIVA og Norsk Farmakologisk Selskap, arrangerer i høst det fjerde mikroplastsymposiet den 20. november. Tittelen på møtet er «Mikroplastforurensning sett gjennom ulike linser», som omfatter de mangefasetterte utfordringene knyttet til mikroplastforurensning, inkludert påvirkning på både menneskers og miljøets helse.

Dr. Amy Lusher er seniorforsker ved Norsk institutt for vannforskning (NIVA) og har over 15 års erfaring med forskning og vurdering av plastforurensning. Hun har ledet arbeidet med mikroplastkartlegging for Miljødirektoratet, og har vært med på å utvikle retningslinjer og rapporter for blant annet Japans miljødepartement, Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP) og FNs organisasjon for ernæring og landbruk (FAO). Dr. Lusher har også vært en pådriver for å forbedre og harmonisere metoder for økt nøyaktighet og sammenlignbarhet i mikroplastforskningen. Som en fremragende forsker har hun vist en sterk evne til å omsette vitenskapelig kunnskap til konkrete og handlingsrettede politiske rammeverk.
